‘Responsibility’ according to an online dictionary is…
1. The state or fact of having a duty to deal with something or of having control over someone. “a true leader takes responsibility for their team and helps them achieve goals” is taking ownership.
2. The state or fact of being accountable or to blame for something. “the group has claimed responsibility for a string of murders”
I like to think that we have no power over others, just the power to control ourselves. So ‘Response-ability’ is a great play on words. It is your ‘ability to respond’ to external factors that will be the difference for you this year.
You choose your actions, behaviours, emotions and habits, therefore, you are in control of ONLY YOU!
If you are in control of you, why would you choose angry, depressed, why would you choose stress? The same time it takes to choose angry is the same time it takes to choose to smile and let the external bounce off.
