TEAM PERFORMANCE PARTNERSHIPS
PRESENT WHEN IT MATTERS
A Team Performance Partnership begins once we already know each other. I have spent time inside your environment, listened to your coaches, connected with your athletes and begun understanding the people behind the performance, while your team has experienced how I work and what can happen when we become curious about what is sitting underneath the performance everyone eventually sees. We already have trust, shared experience and an understanding we can continue developing, so the Partnership gives something we have already begun the opportunity to grow.
That becomes increasingly valuable as the season evolves because the people evolve with it. Experiences accumulate, confidence develops, responsibilities change and the significance of individual performances grows as the team moves towards whatever it has collectively been working for. I remain connected to that journey, allowing the work to develop with the athletes rather than continually returning to who they were when we first met.
Over time, I begin knowing what individual athletes look and sound like when they are completely connected with themselves and what helps them access that state. They know there is somebody alongside them who understands their journey, recognises how far they have already come and remains genuinely interested in discovering how much further they might be capable of going.
WHAT DOES A TEAM PERFORMANCE PARTNERSHIP LOOK LIKE?
Every Partnership is created around the organisation because the support needs to belong inside your environment. Your competitive calendar, people and ambitions already give us the framework, while everything we have discovered together helps determine where my involvement can create the greatest value.
I can continue working personally with the wider playing group while remaining connected with coaches, leaders and individual athletes. At different times that may mean being physically inside the environment, travelling with the team, working privately with an athlete or continuing the relationship online when that gives us everything we need. The flexibility allows the support to follow the performance rather than asking the performance to fit around a predetermined program.
The Partnership therefore becomes less about how often I am present and much more about having the right level of understanding and support available as the people and performance continue developing.
20 YEARS OF PERFORMANCE… REFINED INTO AN APPROACH
The way I work today has grown from more than 20 years of sitting with elite performers and continually asking how change can become quicker, easier, deeper and more useful to the person who eventually has to perform. Working with 50 World and Olympic Champions and several thousand professional athletes has given me thousands of opportunities to observe what happens when traditional methods meet the reality of an individual human being, and some of the most important developments in my work have come from noticing when the athlete showed me there was a better way.
When an athlete changed remarkably quickly, I wanted to understand what allowed it to happen. When that change remained available months or years later, I wanted to know what had allowed it to integrate so deeply. When an athlete responded differently from what a conventional model suggested, I followed the athlete rather than forcing them back towards the model.
Over 20 years, those observations have shaped the processes I use today. They have been refined through real world application with performers whose outcomes mattered enormously to them, allowing me to recognise performance patterns more precisely and develop approaches designed to create meaningful change without making the process unnecessarily complicated for the athlete.
That accumulated experience is what an organisation accesses through a Team Performance Partnership. You are not simply bringing in another methodology. You are working directly with the person who created and continues refining the approach through the elite performers who trust him with their performance.
ACCESS EVERYWHERE
Professional sport moves people, so the support surrounding your athletes needs the ability to move with them. I can continue working personally with your team on site and online wherever competition takes them, while the international ASW Approved Practitioner network gives us additional physical reach when having appropriately trained expertise closer to an athlete adds genuine value.
That network has been developed deliberately because the processes being entrusted to those practitioners represent more than 20 years of my work. They have evolved through thousands of applications and through the demands of World Championship, Olympic and professional performance, which is why specialist ASW training is only available to practitioners I believe will respect the methodology, honour the processes and apply them with the care their results deserve.
Every ASW Approved Practitioner is personally trained by me in the approach, processes and their application with athletes, then continues receiving ongoing mentoring and development directly from me. Our network already extends across 6 countries, giving organisations greater international access while keeping the quality, philosophy and direction of the work connected to the approach I have spent my career developing.
Sometimes I will be the right person to be physically present, sometimes online access will give us exactly what we need and sometimes an athlete may benefit from having an ASW Approved Practitioner closer to them. The purpose is simply to create the right support around your people wherever performance takes them.
CONTINUITY… AND BEING PRESENT WHEN IT MATTERS MOST
The longer I know an athlete, the more naturally we can continue from where we are. I understand the work sitting underneath their performance, the discoveries they have made about themselves and what their best feels like from inside their own experience. When something goes beautifully, we can celebrate it and understand what created it while the feeling is still alive, allowing success itself to become part of their continued development.
There is something incredibly valuable about having somebody alongside you who remembers the distance you have already travelled. Elite athletes naturally spend enormous amounts of time looking towards the next performance, yet confidence can grow from recognising what they have already created and understanding that their best is no longer something they simply hope will appear. It is something they are becoming increasingly familiar with accessing.
As the season moves towards the performances carrying the greatest meaning, that familiarity becomes even more valuable. The physical preparation has been completed, the coaching absorbed and thousands of repetitions have already created the skill. Through our work together, the athlete has also been developing a deeper understanding of the person responsible for accessing all of it.
By then I know these people, and they know themselves more deeply too. One athlete may access their best through complete calm while another finds theirs through intensity, yet each can arrive with greater confidence in what works for them while remaining connected to teammates doing exactly the same thing in their own way.
Imagine reaching the performance everyone has been building towards with that understanding already inside the room. There is nothing extraordinary we suddenly need to manufacture because the moment has become important. We can support each athlete in reconnecting with something familiar, trust everything they have spent the season developing and give all of that preparation the opportunity to become performance.
That is what Present When It Matters means to me. It is being there with people I already know as everything we have been building together has the opportunity to become visible.
IMAGINE WHAT BECOMES POSSIBLE
This is where the Partnership becomes genuinely exciting because the question eventually becomes much bigger than whether one athlete can improve. We can begin imagining what happens when greater individual access to performance starts appearing throughout the team and those athletes begin lifting each other through the quality of what they bring into the environment every day.
Training can begin lifting because athletes who understand more about their own performance bring that awareness into the work they do together. As individual contributions improve, teammates are challenged and supported by better versions of the people around them, allowing improvement to compound through the group without requiring one enormous transformation to create it.
Imagine that continuing through a season until these extraordinarily talented individuals understand themselves more deeply while becoming increasingly connected to each other. Each athlete can bring the version of themselves that performs best into an environment where the people around them are doing the same, giving everything the organisation has developed physically, tactically and culturally a greater opportunity to become expressed through the team.
Then imagine what happens when people outside the organisation begin feeling it too.
There is an energy around a team performing with freedom, confidence and connection that supporters recognise instinctively. They want to experience it again, share it with their families and feel part of what is happening. Members become increasingly proud of belonging, sponsors become associated with something people genuinely care about and the jersey becomes an expression of connection rather than simply another piece of merchandise.
As performance builds, so does possibility. Results can change the energy surrounding a season and open opportunities that once felt distant, while the private work being done inside the organisation begins creating consequences everyone can see. For athletes, those moments can shape careers and futures. For coaches and performance staff, they can represent years of work finally becoming visible through the people they have invested themselves into. For the organisation, they can create growth, commercial value and moments that become part of its history, while for a family sitting together in the stands, the same performance may simply become something they remember for the rest of their lives.
All of that possibility begins with the people already inside your organisation.
You have already found the talent. You have already invested in developing it. The opportunity now is to discover how much more becomes possible when those athletes can access more of everything you already know is there.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
By the time we are considering a Team Performance Partnership, there is a good chance we already know each other. We may have experienced an Introduction or Intensive together, I may already understand your athletes and environment, and you have had the opportunity to see how your people respond to the work. If that relationship already exists, the next conversation is simply about where you want to go from here and what level of involvement will best support the team you are continuing to build.
There will also be organisations that arrive here differently. You may already know my work, have followed the results created across more than 20 years in elite sport or simply recognise something within this approach that feels right for your people. If the timing, connection and opportunity are already there, we can begin the Partnership conversation directly without creating unnecessary steps between where you are and where you want to go.
Every Partnership is created around the organisation rather than selected from a predetermined package. We can look together at your athletes, competitive calendar, existing performance environment and the future you are working towards, then create the level of personal access, on site involvement, online support, travel and international ASW support that genuinely adds value to that journey.
The investment reflects the depth and scope of the Partnership we create together. More importantly, it gives us the opportunity to keep asking the question that has been sitting underneath this entire process… how much more might become possible when the people carrying your potential are supported in bringing more of it to life together?
LET’S TALK ABOUT YOUR TEAM
If you are already imagining what this could look like inside your organisation, I would love to hear about it.
Tell me about your team, where you are now and where you want to go. Tell me what excites you about the people you already have and what you believe might become possible if more of their individual potential began connecting consistently across the entire group.
We may discover that an Introduction is the perfect place to begin, that going deeper through an Intensive gives us what we need, or that there is already enough connection and understanding for us to explore a Team Performance Partnership directly.
The starting point matters far less than the conversation.
Because somewhere inside the athletes you already have are performances you have not seen yet, and somewhere ahead of your organisation may be results, moments and possibilities that all of the work being done today is quietly preparing you for.
I would genuinely love to hear what you are building… and explore what might become possible if we build the next part together.
