Online Programs
A Head Start can mean different things…
Depending on where you are right now, a Head Start might be getting an advantage over your opposition, preparing your mind before a new season begins or simply deciding that you are ready to discover what happens when the mental side of your performance receives the same attention you have been giving your body and your sport.
Sometimes a Head Start is much smaller than that. It is the first tentative step into something you haven’t explored before. A little curiosity about why you can feel incredible one day and completely different the next, or the decision to start working on your mindset without really knowing where that journey might take you.
Either way… this is a good place to begin.
Over more than 20 years of working with athletes, the processes, tools and programs you will find here have grown from real conversations, real performances and the things athletes have needed at different stages of their careers. They now form the Athlete’s Secret Weapon online ecosystem, giving you the freedom to work on your performance in your own time, at your own pace and wherever in the world your sport happens to take you.
Have a look around. See what interests you. There is no expectation that you need everything at once because each program has a different purpose and there will be times when one becomes far more relevant to you than another.
As an athlete, Head Start is what I reccommend you begin. It gives you the foundations, understanding and first experiences that allow everything else to make more sense. From there, The Changing Room gives you somewhere to stay connected and keep building on what you have started, while programs such as The Dear Diary Process and YourTube become incredibly useful additions when the time is right and you understand where they fit into your own performance.
Think of this as the Athlete’s Secret Weapon shelf within the wider Elite Mindset Institute Library. I’ve put the athlete specific programs together here so you can find what you need, understand where to begin and then allow your own journey to decide where you go next.
Your Head Start doesn’t have to look like anybody else’s.
It simply has to start somewhere… you may as well start here and now!
Head Start
You know the athlete you are when everything clicks. Training feels natural, your decisions happen without forcing them and you compete with the freedom that reminds you exactly why you love your sport. That is also what makes the other days so frustrating… because you know that athlete is in there. You have already experienced them.
Head Start begins with understanding what changes between those performances and why nerves, doubts, expectations or pressure can sometimes influence how much of your ability becomes available when you need it most. There is nothing here asking you to train harder or want it more. You have probably spent years doing both. This is about finally giving some attention to the part of you that has access to everything you have already worked so hard to build.
The first 3 videos and everything I share with you through this introduction are completely free. There is no expectation, no pressure and definitely no hard sell. I would much rather give you the opportunity to understand what I do, why I do it and what becomes possible before you decide whether any of this is right for you.
That understanding matters to me because my programs are results driven. I share more than 20 years of experience with you so we can begin connecting what happens inside your head with what you experience in training and competition. Once you can see that connection, the nerves, doubts or changes in performance that may have frustrated you begin to make much more sense, and we can start looking at what becomes possible when you learn to master the one thing that so often changes when the pressure goes up… your mind.
I will also introduce you to the measured results of one of my athletes, an Australian U20 400m hurdles national champion, so you can see what this work can look like beyond theory. Results like these are being created with athletes around the world because the work goes much deeper than simply asking someone to think positively, get motivated or imagine a happy place.
That isn’t how I work.
I want to understand the operating programs underneath your responses… what your mind has learned, what it is trying to protect you from and why that can create a completely different athlete under pressure. Then we work with those programs and begin rewiring the responses so that what happens automatically starts supporting where you are going rather than interfering with the performance you have already trained so hard to produce.
That is my difference, and the first 3 videos give you the opportunity to experience enough of that difference to make your own decision.
After those 3 free lessons, you are completely free to walk away with a better understanding of yourself and your performance. If what you have discovered makes you curious about how much further we can take it, a small investment opens the rest of Head Start.
That’s where I stop introducing you to what is possible… and we start doing the work.
The Changing Room
Head Start gives you the understanding, tools and processes to start changing the way your mind works with your performance. The Changing Room is where you get to stay connected to me while you put all of that into practice.
Think of it as the best investment you can make alongside Head Start… your opportunity to be in the same Changing Room as me, ask the questions that naturally come up as you move through the program and discover how to get even more from what you are learning. Sometimes a small question, a different way of looking at something or one adjustment to how you are using a process can completely change what you get from it.
I will be in there sharing tips, ideas and different ways of using the methods I have developed across more than 20 years, helping you continue building on what Head Start has already started. You are doing the work yourself, while having somewhere to come back to when you want a little more understanding, direction or simply another perspective.
And there is another little secret…
Your investment in The Changing Room also gives you FREE access to The Dear Diary Process Program… one of the most powerful tools I have created and developed, published as a book and used with athletes since 2010.
It has been part of my work with athletes for more than 15 years… and now, simply by being part of The Changing Room, the complete program is yours too.
Head Start gets you started. The Changing Room gives you somewhere to keep growing… with your HEAD Coach still in the room.
YourTube- Use YouTube for your benefit.
Imagine being able to train while your body is resting, outside of scheduled training
YourTube takes visualisation far beyond simply imagining yourself performing well. This is a process designed to help your mind experience your performance so clearly that you can continue rehearsing, refining and learning without physically placing more load on your body. You can work on technique, speed and strength, learn a new track or course before you arrive, prepare for competition environments or continue rehearsing your performance while injury prevents you from training normally.
The science behind mental rehearsal, motor imagery and neuroplasticity is fascinating. When movement is repeatedly and vividly rehearsed, the brain engages many of the neural networks involved in physically performing that movement. Over time, repeated practice can contribute to changes in those neural pathways. What has fascinated me across the last 16 years is exploring how far we can take that principle… then finding different ways of applying it with real athletes, real sports and real performance situations.
That is where YourTube becomes something very different. It is using YouTube for Your benefit!
I have explored ways of using this process for learning technique, refining movement, building familiarity with tracks and environments, supporting an athlete through injury and helping the mind continue rehearsing while the body recovers. We can incorporate video, audio, imagery, physical sensations and even sleep based reinforcement, with much of the work cleverly disguised as something remarkably simple… relaxation.
Sometimes you can literally be training while watching videos.
So if your parents walk past and catch you sitting there watching YouTube, you now have the perfect answer…
“I’m training.”
And for anyone who has ever told me that visualisation doesn’t work for them, I completely understand why.
You just haven’t done it like this yet.
The Dear Diary Process
On 17 March 2010, a professional golfer made a comment to me that triggered one of those rare moments when years of knowledge suddenly connected.
Everything I understood about the human mind, neuroplasticity, behaviour and human performance seemed to come together around one remarkably simple idea. I went away and began developing it, testing it and watching what happened when clients used it. What emerged became The Dear Diary Process… an original process I created, continued to refine through real client results and ultimately developed into my published book of the same name.
More than 16 years later, its simplicity still hides just how powerful it can be.
I have watched people change thoughts, actions, reactions and behaviours they believed were so ingrained they were simply part of who they were. Relationships can change because one person stops responding automatically to the triggers that previously created the same familiar outcome. Patterns that may have existed for years can begin shifting remarkably quickly, sometimes so quickly that the protective mind itself becomes uncomfortable with just how much is changing.
That is one of the reasons I created the complete program around the process. I want you to understand what you are experiencing, feel supported as those changes begin appearing and become comfortable enough with your results to keep going rather than retreating back towards what was familiar.
All from a process that can take around 5 minutes each night and, once learned, can remain available to you for the rest of your life.
I created it. I wrote the book on it. I have spent more than 16 years discovering just how far we can take it.
Now you get to discover what it can do for you.
The Rewriting Room
Rewrite your story with guidance, not guesswork.
When you begin changing thoughts, actions, reactions and behaviours that may have been operating automatically for years, how are you supposed to know what happens next? How do you know whether the changes you are experiencing are exactly what we want, whether that unexpected reaction means something important or whether your protective mind is simply becoming uncomfortable because the new you is starting to feel very different from the person it has spent years keeping familiar?
That is why I created The Rewriting Room.
I don’t want you experiencing powerful change and then being left alone to interpret it. I want you to have somewhere to bring what is happening, talk it through with me and understand what your results are telling us so we can continue building on them. Something that feels confusing to you may be incredibly exciting to me because more than 20 years of working with the human mind allows me to recognise what may be sitting underneath it and help you understand where we go next.
This is guidance built around your change as it happens. We can celebrate what is working, explore what surprises you and keep refining the direction as those new thoughts and responses begin becoming increasingly familiar.
You are already rewriting your story.
The Rewriting Room means you never have to guess what the next page should look like.
The Target Process
The best way to predict the future is to create it.
You have probably already tried to create the future you want. You have set goals, made plans, visualised the outcome, written affirmations or built a vision board filled with everything that would make life feel incredible when you finally get there. You felt excited when you created it too… so why does that excitement so often disappear before the future arrives?
This question fascinated me because there is nothing wrong with wanting more for yourself. The problem is that some of the very things designed to inspire you can create the opposite response inside your mind. A huge goal can feel exciting consciously while triggering protection underneath. A vision board can show your mind dozens of different futures without giving it one clear direction. Visualisation can create a wonderful emotional experience without necessarily creating the action required to make it real. Then when motivation fades, we tend to blame ourselves rather than questioning the process we were using.
The Target Process was created to change that.
I wanted the best parts of goal setting, action taking, visualisation, vision boards, manifesting and affirmations working together, while also respecting something incredibly important… how the human mind actually responds to change.
This is where the science becomes fascinating. Neural pathways, neuroplasticity, repetition, imagery and emotional connection begin working together so your future becomes more than something you consciously want. We build familiarity with it, strengthen your emotional relationship with it and connect it with the actions that begin moving you towards it, while reducing the internal conflict that can appear when your protective mind interprets a big change as something unfamiliar.
And this is where The Target Process and The Dear Diary Process become incredibly powerful together.
The Dear Diary Process works with the thoughts, actions, reactions and behaviours shaping your days. The Target Process gives those days somewhere to go. One allows you to keep creating change now, while the other keeps connecting that change to the happiness, health, love, wealth and future you actually want to experience.
So if you have spent years knowing there is more waiting for you, setting goals and starting again, wondering why something you want so badly can still be so difficult to consistently move towards…
Come in.
You don’t need another bigger goal.
You may simply need a better way of helping your mind believe it is safe to go and get it.
The HOW TO Project
The Project is You.
I was reading another mindset book one afternoon when I became increasingly frustrated. The advice sounded good… believe in yourself, stay motivated, be disciplined, think positively, push through and keep going. Yet I kept thinking about the person reading it who genuinely wanted all of those things and was quietly asking the question nobody seemed to be answering…
How?
How do you become confident when fear is already there? How do you stay motivated when you have lost direction? How do you stop procrastinating when you genuinely want the result? Why do you keep repeating a behaviour you have already decided you want to change?
After more than 20 years working with the human mind, I wasn’t seeing people who needed another person telling them what they should be doing. I was seeing awesome people becoming frustrated with themselves because nobody had helped them understand why their mind was doing what it was doing in the first place.
That frustration became The HOW TO Project… How to Change Your Thoughts for Awesome Results.
Across 16 Fundamentals, I share the patterns I have discovered through thousands of conversations about fear, confidence, motivation, direction, self sabotage, emotional responses and the wonderfully complicated way we experience ourselves and everyone around us.
This isn’t another program telling you how you should think.
It is an opportunity to finally understand how you already do… with the support, encouragement and understanding to help you become more tolerant of yourself, more understanding of the people around you and increasingly capable of choosing what happens next.
You already know what you want to change.
Let’s finally explore HOW.
