Find the right ASW Approved Practitioner for you
If you’re an athlete looking for someone who genuinely understands sport and performance, a parent searching for the right support for your child, a coach wanting someone you can trust with one of your athletes, or a team looking for specialist performance support, you’re in the right place. You may have arrived here because you’ve heard about the Athlete’s Secret Weapon results, someone has recommended the work or you simply know there is another level of performance available and you want the right person to help you access it. Whatever brought you here, the practitioners below have been personally trained, mentored and approved by me to apply the Athlete’s Secret Weapon processes with their own athletes and clients, while remaining connected to me and the wider practitioner group through our ongoing collaboration.
What I’d suggest now is that you forget about trying to choose the person with the longest list of qualifications or simply selecting whoever happens to be closest to you. Have a look at the people. Read their profiles, explore the sports and areas they specialise in, visit their websites and watch their videos. Listen to how they speak and notice who you naturally feel drawn towards, because what you are really looking for is somebody you feel you can sit down with, talk openly to and trust with something that matters enormously to you.
This is the part I really want you to take your time with, because choosing the person you allow into your head, your performance and potentially some of the most important moments of your sporting career is an incredibly personal decision. I have been that person for athletes throughout my career, and some of those relationships have lasted for years because once somebody genuinely understands you, knows where you have come from and has been beside you through the performances that shaped your career, that relationship can become incredibly valuable.
That is what I want you to find here.
Every ASW Approved Practitioner on this page brings something different. They have their own sporting interests, professional experience, personality and way of connecting with people. Some may have experience that immediately relates to your sport, while somebody else may simply say something in their video or profile that makes you think, I reckon I could talk to this person.
Pay attention to that.
Read their profile, visit their website and watch their videos. Send them an email or pick up the phone and have a conversation. You aren’t committing to anything by saying hello. You are simply finding out whether this feels like someone you can trust, because the quality of that connection matters enormously when you begin talking about what is happening inside your head and how it is influencing something as important to you as your performance.
You may be looking for help with something very specific right now, although the person you choose could ultimately become part of a much longer journey. They may be there as you chase your first major result, move through different levels of your sport, experience success, disappointment, injury, selection, pressure and everything else an athletic career can bring. If the relationship is right, they may even remain part of your world when competition eventually finishes and you begin working out what life looks like beyond the athlete you have spent so many years becoming.
I know these practitioners personally. I have trained them, worked with them and continued mentoring most of them for well beyond their initial approval, with many now having spent more than 12 months inside our professional environment. I know their personalities, their strengths and the areas of performance that naturally excite them, which means you don’t have to make this decision completely on your own either.
If you look through the profiles and immediately know who you want to contact, brilliant. Reach out to them directly and start the conversation. If 2 or 3 people stand out and you aren’t sure who might suit you best, contact me. Tell me a little about yourself, your sport, where you are and what you are looking for, and I can help point you towards the practitioner I believe you are most likely to connect with.
Because ultimately, this page isn’t about finding an Approved Practitioner. It’s about finding your person. Someone you can talk to, someone you trust and someone who gets to know the athlete behind the performance and understands just how much what you are working towards means to you.
For 50 World and Olympic Champions, I have had the extraordinary privilege of being that person.
Now I want to help you find yours.
One small change I particularly like is “What I’d suggest now…” That sounds much more like you sitting beside the visitor and guiding them through the decision, rather than the website issuing instructions. The whole page becomes less like a practitioner directory and much more like Stuart personally introducing an athlete to someone he trusts.
